Brain tumor woman's plea to save cancer charity

AN INSPIRATIONAL former Camden schoolgirl who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour has made a desperate plea for sponsorship.

Lisa Connell, 30, set up the website rentadateforcharity. com in 2007 to raise vital cash for brain cancer charities, but unless she finds someone to sponsor her with around £30,000 by early August the organisation will have to close.

She said: "I've worked for years on this campaign but I am now struggling to pay the bills. My mum invested her personal savings into the start up of the business, but the money is drying up. We have made so many plans but with no financial backing it will be impossible for us to go through with them. Fortunately a web company has offered to maintain and redevelop the website, but this will be of little use if we cannot keep the business running. My last wish is to raise £1million for Brain Tumour research and I don't want to lose this opportunity."

Ms Connell's website has auctioned dates with celebrities including model Sophie Anderton, singer Cheryl Baker, and Coronation Street actor Jimmi Harkishin, with all proceeds going towards brain tumour research.
