History and philosophy
Silks ‘n' Spices is a Camden legend - situated as it is in the enviable position directly across from the world famous Stables Market which is the most visited tourist attraction in London! Summer days and evenings may be spent sitting outside the wide open frontage of the restaurant watching the hustle and bustle of Camden in comfort whilst enjoying fine cuisine.
The long established and ongoing Silks ‘n' Spices philosophy is to bring the subtle tastes and variety of flavours from the celebrated Spice Islands of Thailand and Malaysia to London.
Cuisine
The astonishing range of spices used in this ancient and healthy style of cooking dates back several centuries to the period of brave maritime exploration and discovery and has graced the tables of Eastern kings and princes.
In our kitchens we use spices and mainly organic ingredients flown in weekly from South East Asia.
This not only guarantees that the freshest produce is used in our cooking but also ensures that the authentic flavours we constantly strive for are not comprised.
The Red Bar & Lounge
The Silks ‘n 'Spices interior is in keeping with its Eastern origins - a minimalist, modern décor that shows to the finest effect the traditional artefacts from a bygone age.
The long Red Bar is rapidly becoming a vibrant, friendly social gathering spot where you can simply drop in for a drink or enjoy one of the many Silks ‘n' Spices speciality cocktails whilst waiting for your table.
The recent addition of three private function rooms, fully kitted out with state of the art plasma screens, projectors, digital karaoke systems and air conditioning, makes Silks ‘n' Spices a truly versatile venue capable of hosting the most demanding of events.
In addition, we have arecently redesigned VIP & Members Lounge; with its cool leather sofas, adjacent function room and its own integral bar, the VIP Lounge makes for a superb private facility capable of hosting and catering corporate as well as social events.
Unusually for avenue of this quality, we do not charge for the hire of our function room and, as aresult, we are currently nearing capacity for our Christmas function calendar so please book soon to avoid disappointment.
