Royal School dress to impress in bid for eco award

GREEN was the theme at a Hampstead school as it geared up for an eco award.
Pupils from the Royal School were all dressed in the same colour last week to promote environmental issues.
The Green Day included a fashion show with prizes for the most unusual garb, a meat-free lunch to reduce the meal's carbon footprint, and a cash collection to help environmental charities.
"The Green Day kick-started our drive to win a Green Flag award from the government, and everyone really enjoyed it," said geography teacher Catherine Bartram.
"The pupils had to pay a contribution to arrive in their own clothes, which will contribute towards improvements in the school grounds and help charities.
"Many pupils also made pledges such as 'I promise to take more showers and fewer baths' which will help the environment."
Plans include planting a herb and vegetable garden at the school.
