Police have revealed that a "racially aggravated altercation" on a train was antisemitic and violence was used.

British Transport Police (BTP) issued an appeal on Monday (November 27) to trace a man who might have information about an incident on a Thameslink train the previous day.

The force has now identified which service the clash took place on - the 5.32pm Thameslink service from West Hampstead to Mill Hill Broadway on Sunday.

It has also revealed that antisemitic rhetoric was used and an individual was punched.

BTP put out an appeal on X, formerly Twitter, to trace the man, who they said might be able to help investigators.

Anyone who may be able to help police identify him has been asked to contact the force.

People can do so by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 528 of 26 November 2023. They can also submit information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
